Though not directly Superdream related, this may still interest some. Those who have read my rubbish will know I restore dead stuff and can paint it a bit. Sometimes, I can help with other peoples projects too by painting their stuff. This all sometimes generates a little coin which enables me to fund the other thing. I then use the other thing to deliver with care, said painted stuff. This Saturday I have a delivery. Tony (up in the lake district) needs a full set (Tank side panels and tail), and Graeme in Glasgow needs the same times 2 ! (Greedy bugger). This is now a north run with a stop off. The machine of choice (The other thing) now needs some preparation, and this is the bit I thought may interest some. Much like the bike, you check it over first, get the directions sorted, fuel it up, then tomorrow I pack the cargo.(Dummy run with old stuff first) this is the first bit. Plan the flight, fuel up. I will take pictures as I go and post them (If you are still awake at the back).

The first leg is Nantwich in Cheshire to Kirkbryde at the top of the lake district. Then on to Cumbernauld for lunch. I do enjoy the local food wherever I go, and if doing the same trip to the south I would have a lunch of Moules marinière. I have been checking the fine dining up there..... It's not that.

I was reading a bit about light aircraft recently, they often (it said) have a double cdi setup (not a million miles away from the superdream) so if one fails you can switch to the other. now where can I fit a spare stator on my thing?

A bit more than that Buster. Engine is a flat 4 air cooled 3.3 litre lump. It has magneto ignition on 2 independent gearing systems (2 magnetos) each to their own spark plug, so 2 plugs per cylinder. I have 3 fuel tanks which can be independently selected. A mechanical fuel pump and an electric fuel pump. You can enjoy a complete electrical failure of the whole aircraft, lose a magneto, burn a plug lead out AND run out of fuel in 2 tanks with a busted pump.....and it is still running. 😳👍🤣
And still people say " Kin dangerous them things. Never get me up in one ". Oh, did I mention...it will also glide. 😉

All I can say here is it was a trip that was so good it deserves all these pictures. Just to recap. I had painted supredream bits to carefully deliver to Tony in the Lake district, then to Graeme in Glasgow. The best weather day was chosen, and this is the result. Not strictly superdream, but we all love a damn good trip out. You can see Morcambe Bay, the lake district, Kirkbryde airfield, the run past Lockerbie, Glasgow, Meeting Graeme at Cumbernauld, return flight down by Ullswater to give Tony a wave as he was working on the boats, and the instrument panel just for the hell of it. Mostly flown at almost 4000ft looking through cloud, clear of high ground. It had a motorcycling purpose, but just why not ! F**8K the expense, we will be dead a long time. Very sorry I missed Tony, but we will catch up. Great to see the big man again. I hope you can all feel a part of this.

Great pics Steve and I did enjoy the brief catch up.
Nice of you to fly them up, saved lots of hassle for me.
Your flan pie looked very tasty incidentally, next time you come up, bring two...ta.
See you soon bud.
Graeme.

It was Ian, and being able to see both the east and west coasts descending into Cumbernauld was ace. The return flight back had a small tail wind to it too. So wheels off to wheels on between Glasgow and Nantwich was 1 hour 48 minutes. That speed in a straight line with no road delays of traffic lights makes trips this way so much easier. The TT is tempting too. Done it before, but didn't know anyone to scrounge a lift from..........?
