We would normally be in the middle of Classic TT/MGP, but of course nothing is normal, so we aren't . This weekend is Super Manx Bank Holiday - today is a public holiday in lieu of not having a public holiday on senior race day TT week - and there's a few bike related events on. Port Erin are having some kind of WW2 event & the VMCC were asked to display a few old bikes. Anything was allowed, but we didn't think our 70s/80s Japanese bikes suitable, so we parked around the corner & went for a look - some nice oldies A bit more modern, but this was my favourite. The guy bought it from Tony East's private museum which I've posted pictures from before. It was already restored - didn't dare ask what he paid for it I was a bit surprised someone didn't chuck a hand grenade in this one Not as bad as the Japs I suppose, and neither were the Italians, so this was ok, and it was a lovely bike. VMCC track day tomorrow, not that I'll be taking to the track, just having a look, and Moddey Dhoo & VMCC bike show at Peel on Monday - and the weather's ok

Had a nice day in the sunshine at Jurby after a good ride up there on my Interceptor, and there were lots of nice bikes taking the track (definitely not for me). This is fellow Enfield rider Gareth on hic CB.... A couple of nice 400/4s behind him... There's another 3 of those exhaust pipes on the other side of this lovely CBX They weren't all on Hondas, although there were quite a few 400/4s This is Rolly's GSXR, I've posted his pair of sparkly Metisse before - paint on this is just as wow! And this is the other bike Gareth brought up - he couldn't use his Continental GT 650 as it's not 15 years old Not racing, but this lovely CB125S was parked up amongst the race vans Nothing bikey on tomorrow, so it's Peel bike show on Monday next......

Peel bike show today, and quite a different day to Saturday, cool, windy & even a few spots of rain . A fair turn out of bikes in the VMCC area though. We went on these two Some other Jap bikes..... and the Brits..... No make on this, so I've no idea what it is, but assume it's a Brit A nice Jawa, but I'm not sure if it's modern resurrection A couple of Italians next..... Got chatting to the owner who rebuilt this Indian, I thought it was something from the 20s or 30s, but it's 1941. Riding it looks interesting with a foot lever on each side, for clutch & brake, a hand gear change and the front brake & throttle were originally on the left, but he found that too confusing & swapped it to the right. And that's it, the end of the holiday weekend & bike events

I've heard the throttle was fitted on the left on police department models, allowing the the officer to use his firearm whilst in pursuit of miscreants. Don't know if civilian models were thus equipped as well.

Looks like a great few days out! Whats this white bike? Its a bit different, I quite like it. That Ducati could almost pass for the CB400N with its styling, gold wheels, and the front and rear ends are also quite similar.. Don't know much of the history, was that Honda's intention?

Sure would be interesting to have a go at those hand gear controlled bikes.

That's interesting Willy, I'll pass it on to the owner next time I see him. If it was only police bikes, I guess that could be what this one was originally. Speaking of police bikes, Andrew, that white bike is a Velocette LE. Back when I started riding in the 60s, they were known as 'Noddy bikes' as the police used them. They were quite unusual back then, water cooled horizontal side valve side valve engine, shaft drive & hand gear change, pressed ally frame, but definitely not something we teenagers aspired too
