Hi All
New member just joined, in middle of rebuilding a 1980 250N. In past hae owned both the 250 and 400N, a CJ250T amongst others like a Z650, CBR1000, 350ypvs. Present bikes are Yamaha R1, GPz750R and the superdream.
Will be asking lots of questions about the rebuild that I hope members with more expierence than me will be able to answer as this has been a fun rebuild up to know with all the issues I found.

Hi Steve
See you owned a FS1E, my first bike(too many years ago to think about) when I was 16 was the FS1M followed by 2 AR125's(wrote one off when a car pulled out of a side road)
Will be asking lots of questions no doubt about my rebuild

Hi Ian, so far its been fun, bought it as a non- runner with the intention of quick tidy up, get it running and move onto next project, its turned into a complete rebuild. Stripped it right down, scrapped the horrible fairing it had on to turn it back into a naked SD. So far Ive had lots of parts powder coated, replaced wheel bearings, swinging arm bushes, sanded and polished casing as they were in a right mess, engine had only a little compression so that's stripped right down(needed doing as one of the engine mounting bolts sheared off and had to take it to a machine shop to drill out (heat didnt budge it). Once I cleaned bottom casing of 40 years of road dirt and caked on oil found a hairline crack so thats at a welders to sort out before I rebuild engine with new seals and bearings. Compression issue was gummed up rings.
