I also like the Red with Black at front😁 Getting adjustable footrests/ levers and a 2-1 exhaust the touring seat and some luggage. I like that one too. My original plan was to buy a new one, but that was one of the 'premium' colours & I didn't fancy paying the extra, so settled on Orange Crush. Then this one came up, 12 months old, low miles & a saving of nearly a grand, so silver it was . I'll be interested how you get on with the adjustable foot pegs, are they Tec? The standard pegs tend to get in the way a bit when paddling it around. Pete, most seem to be bought by old gits like me, they do a few miles & decide they're too heavy & get rid after a year or two. There's plenty around in classified adds, including dealers, saving a similar amount without getting into bidding wars.

Let me know how what you think of them, I might get some myself if they make it easier to get your feet down. There's a useful RE site with a dedicated 650 forum with some useful info here forum.classicmotorworks.com/ Lots of people go for the 2 into 1s to save weight. I'm on the fence on that one having spent a fortune converting all my SDs from 2 into 1 to 1 into 2s! Would appreciate the weight saving though. Hopefully things will have settled down by October & we'll make Stafford

I liked the Meteor but not much difference in cost so bought an Interceptor 😁 Only covered 100 miles on it but loving it already.I have bought a job lot of bits off a new Interceptor ( I only wanted the fuel tank 😁 ) complete exhaust/lights/indicators/mirrors/seat etc. so if you drop your bike Ian you know where to call😁 also jus5 bought a touring seat for it. Looks good Dave , I'm still pondering one too ! I liked the original black one , reminded me of my Norton Commando but have now seen the black one with red bit, LC Mars bar colour scheme alike . I've just moved out of my house of 30 years so have cleared a lot of "stuff" including my Royal Enfield 535GT so not buying anything until I get in my new house which could be a couple of months . Prob too tall for the Meteor , like the idea of the proposed Hunter or Scrambler if they make it . Otherwise can see some house money going on an Interceptor

I was wondering if the entire GT footrest set up would transfer , probably more pricey than the relocater kit though . Or I might just have to train my shins not to impact the pegs ! I'll get a test ride . Going to be a couple of months before I get a garage again so good chance of finding one as the riding season closes in .
Thanks for the encouragement - I think

Went for another test ride today. My choice this time, not a get-you-home service loan. I'd gone into a local bike shop yesterday to get some engine oil & they'd just got a nice Continental GT 535 in, so I arranged to go for a ride on it today Am I going to buy it? Not decided yet, but I have form on here - it's the 4th I've looked at over the last 3 years & ended missing them all 'cos they'd sold by the time I made my mind up

Happy decision making Ian . I've sold mine as I'm currently "homeless" and had nowhere to keep it. Prices for the singles seem to be on the up atm . I liked mine and will consider getting another once settled , mine didn't vibrate to any extent except around 3000rpm which resonated the mirrors , got more attention than any bike I've owned , went well enough for me - after about 85 it got a bit disinterested and was doing about 80 mpg . The decision for me will be 525 or 650 twin , suspect the 525 has more character while the 650 more generally usable .

Thanks for that Ian, helps with the decision making. I had a test ride on a 5,000 mile 535 last year & that was smoother than this 900 mile bike - I think they get better with a few miles on the clock I threw another spanner in the works today. I went for a ride on the Interceptor, ended up in Ramsey & went in Paul Dedman's dealership for a skeet. His 535 has gone & there was nothing else taking my fancy but as we left, I looked in the window at the 2 new Interceptors he had, a nice red one & a particularly nice blue one. But, just behind them was a Continental 650 & I noticed it looks a bit smaller than the Interceptors. I went back & sat on it, and yes, knees more bent & the pegs are further back, out the way. It also reminded me that when I first sat on them at Stafford in 2018, I felt more comfortable on the Continental & that would be the one I'd go for, but the following year, in Wales, I had a test ride on the Interceptor & that's what I ended up going after. So, now I'm wondering should I forget the 535 & trade my Interceptor in for a Continental 650? More decisions to try & make....................

I think you're right Ian , my 525 had 7,500 miles on it , I think a lot are sold with few miles on them and several owners who found the vibes too much .
Yes, I agree , I was more comfortable sitting on the 650 Continental and the footrests kept out of the way of my shins better too . I keep looking at the black ones with gold stripe through the tank , reminiscent of the Moto Guzzi 1000S I got close to buying 30 years ago !
I'm quite enjoying being "bikeless" atm and doing plenty of internet research on my future options . I look forward to your next test ride on a Continental and your thoughts on the comparison with the Interceptor .

One issue I had with the 535 was too much weight on those low clip-ons. My shoulders are knackered & the SD bars are about as low as I want to go. Not too worried in the 535's case cos Hitchcocks do clamps that replace the clip-ons & take normal bars, so it shouldn't be a problem finding something I can get on with. The Conti 650 bars are higher & more comfortable, but I could still feel some weight on them, so I was disappointed to see Hitchcocks don't do any risers for them. The Interceptor bars are the most comfortable of all my bikes, so I've done a few measurements on that & the SDs today, and next time I go I'll take some measurements on the Conti 650 for comparison
