I was chatting with someone on the Peak District Ride-out and said I would find this YT clip again? It came to mind as I was impressed with how the 250's kept up with the 400's on Sat. But you do need to spin them up......

Back in the 80's when I had my 250, a friend had a 400. I could never get near him, even if he was two up and I never hung about. About 6 years back I had a wee shot of Loz's 400 with Rona on the back and it went, you still had to rev it right enough but that's par for the course with 43hp on tap. My 400T has 40hp and it pulled very well two up, infact got over 80mph with Rona on the back on country roads rather easily. ORH 250 should be ready in a few weeks, I will see how it does. Rona gets her new CB125r on Saturday morning, ordered May, arrived last Tuesday. The company, Two Wheels in Edinburgh had sold 40 of them, two arrived. Here she is sitting on her bike on Sunday.

I do feel i am pushing mine to the upper limits, sometimes just to maintain a realistic speed with other road users. Actually thinking about a larger engine bike - not sure whether to go vintage again - really wish i hadn't left my old GS850 behind when we moved out from the smoke. Regards, bb

I really enjoy having a few hours to myself every now and then and blasting round the B roads and you certainly have to use the gears and revs , for me that’s one of the things I love about my 250 , great bikes

Know what you mean Paul, I was out on my 250 yesterday & had fun getting the gearchanges & revs right for a few overtakes. I did go up a tooth on the engine sprocket on mine a couple of years back - felt guilty doing around 7 - 8k revs for miles on some of the longer trips over to the meets .

Regards, bb GS850's are one of the few bikes from the era that can still be had for decent prices. For now at least. Have been looking around for one myself

Was looking at CBX 750's but have read some nightmares due to smaller front wheel limiting choices and "complicated" pro link rear suspension being expensive to recondition. Saw a nice looking 750 Bol D'or with a full fairing but for now I continue to look - would dearly love a GS1000 but insane prices even for a munter.

It's genuinely fun thrashing a lower capacity bike about. I've had tons of fast bikes, GSXR's, Ducati's, etc... but my 350LC is favourite things to hoon about on. Looking forward to getting my dream on the road too.
