Well, I’ve been spending a lot of time with a 38 year old recently an my wife reminded me that it would be nice for her to be the focus of my attention. The Superdream is great and my wife is lovely, just learning to balance the two. Bought an 82 model on Gumtree, been looking on and off for the last year, she was on the road, very tired looking but mechanically good, rode home (85miles in the dark and the horrendous rain we had 3 weeks ago), bike was great, now SORN and in bits in the garage. I was going to restore but decided to cafe racer and have the bike reflect me rather than stick to what’s there. Having a battle with the centre stand pivot shaft which is the last thing to come off before mods to the frame and blasting. Not done this before but loving the process and looking forward to meeting good people along the way.

Hi there, welcome along. Good luck with your project - look forward to seeing some pics as it progresses. Rusted in centre stand pivot shaft tubes aren't unusual, had to do saw through either end of one of mine to get the stand off, then saw through the tube length ways a couple of times to get the tube out. You can usually find a decent replacement tube on ebay.
