Hi, well the bike is confusing but a nice bike all the same - based on the colour scheme the bodywork looks like it is from a 250NA ....the second edition of the superdream - the engine again appears to be from a 250NA or later as it has no kickstart ....the fact that it has 6 gears would suggest it is most most likely to be a 250NA. - the indicators on the bike are not from a superdream and perhaps from a CB250T dream ..see the picture above? There are no grab rails fitted ..the rear indicators attach to these on a superdream - the picture is very small so not sure if the clocks are from a CB250T also? Do the clocks look like those on the CB250T shown above? - the wheels look correct for 250NA ....they are not from a CB250T - the front mudguard and exhaust are aftermarket parts
It has the DNA of a superdream and I would just enjoy riding this bike unless you felt you were misled and overcharged.

looks to me like someones 'updated' a dream, I was told (by crouchy, I think) that the lugs etc behind the superdream side panels (that arent used) are leftovers from the original dream, in other words honda simply updated the dream into a superdream so the frames as far as I know are the same. your engine would appear to be a later superdream as it has 6 gears. if it was mine? I'd make everything work sweetly on the mechanical side and enjoy it as a nice bike

Thanks for your help. The chrome indicators do suggest 250t. Perhaps I should complete the bike and buy the black ones 😆
I didn’t expect to buy a mismatched bike. I clearly didn’t know enough about the superdream bikes and I may have ended up with one. As long as the engine is a superdream I’m fine with it. I know for the future if I ever choose to upgrade to the 400.

Its all down to what you paid and what you're expectations were.99.9% of the UK population would not know the difference and I am one and the person who sold it probably the same.they spent a big part of there life as cheap run abouts so were kept running buy cannibalising other bikes .its a survivor and unique

I paid just £1200. Time will tell if that was a fair amount or if I’ve bought a lemon. Either way she looks fantastic. I’m hoping the engine is also in good condition. I have no reason to suspect it isn’t. I appreciate all the help you guys have given me.

i do not think thats OTT, basket cases are going for half that, and probably cost you that to make it ridable.as i say its down to your expectations most superdreams are bitzers now unless you have lots of time lots of hours on the net and very deep pockets just ask some on this forum.mine is a bitser and will stay that way and been with me 13 years now and runs just as good as a 4k restro. Its spring soon i and others will be out on are superdreams and enjoying them, enjoy the bike

Thanks mark. I can’t wait to begin working on her. Next month I’ll start and I tend to ride all year round so I’ll be out and about ASAP.

Brilliant. I’ll order an air box and rubbers. The last owner didn’t deserve this bike. No reason to hack it to pieces.

Looks like there's no battery tray in your bike either. The battery sits in securely without it, but you can see the bottom of the battery when the side cover is on. Ok with a black battery, but that Motobat will stand out a bit . None of my SDs had them so I just stuck black gaffer tape around the battery for a while, but then picked up some trays of ebay.

I’ll see how everything looks when the air box is fitted. Then I’ll plan my next moves! Thanks
