Good starting point. Looks nice and original. The seat looks salvageable which is a plus. My bike had a dent in exactly the same place; I wonder why? As a word to the wise, check the tank does not leak before you get it painted. They often leak at the lowest part of the seam at the rear of the tank; don't ask me how I know! Given the tank is quite rusty I would also check the nylon filter in the tank attached to the tap as they can clog up. New taps with filters are available if you can't get the filter out in one piece. The grab rails are rare so that's good as well. Dennis

Just noticed the date on the original post. Did I miss something? Have you already finished the resto? More pictures please. Dennis

That tank stripe looks in good condition, if the right one is as good it would be great if you could mask them and keep them during the tank repairs. Certainly a mixture of decals on the side panels and tail cowl. Thanks for sharing.

Just noticed the date on the original post. Did I miss something? Have you already finished the resto? More pictures please. Dennis Hi Dennis. The bike isn't finished yet, but not too long to go now I hope. Just a few bits to track down and also some re-chroming work to be done. Work priorities meant I wasn't able to put as much time into it in the earlier part of the year but one silver lining to the current Auckland covid lockdown is getting a good run at it over the last few weeks. From memory the bits I still need are: Tacho, choke cable, rear indicator mounting washers/rubbers, front brake caliper rebuild kit, decals for the chain guard and a new set of tyres.
