How do you find them? It's a mystery?

Deep and dark places that can make one's teeth itch, young Steven. You are on quest. Anything 80s. Can't wait for your museum to open. Lol

That is a rude question Steve.... Oh sorry, see what you mean. I now have five genuine vintage old skool helmets: 2 x Griffin 1 x Shoei 1 x Hondaline 1 x Kangol Will get a pic on of all of them very soon.

Are you collecting them Nick? I would imagine they are unwearable / unsafe after 30 years storage. Just wondered why you have so many!!

Some need a re- line, Ian.
I'd say the only ones that don't (oddly enough) are the Honda and Shoei one - Honda one also being Shoei I suspect. (Both made in Japan - says something about build quality).
I would not wear any of them as everyday items - most are made of fibreglass not thermoplastic so would still stand up well in an accident.....remember I am a mature careful rider that is not doing 150 everyday BUT I do appreciate that these are not a serious safety item - and that is NOT what I am saying.....even a serious head injury could occur at very low speed, I know that mate....
But for a meet on a Superdream with my mates, I will choose to take that risk.....but I don't recommend anyone else does - it is my choice.
They will remain on my shelf most of the time...
I simply love the look of these....
Happily there are some modern ones that look vintage now appearing on the market - one I have made my Biltwell and is called the 'Gringo' model. I have stickered it up as a 'Bell'.

Love the visors on these early helmets- 'kin big poppers on them!
Nick- regarding the pic above- when these 35 year old helmets show up, you hurredly rip the packaging off, smell the contents, eagerly slip your desire over your head, aaaahh.... What expression do you note on your missus's face you 80's nutter! smiley-shocked003

They are great to have, I can appreciate the aesthetic argument . I still have my Bell Star 2 from back in the day as you know but I daren't wear it. Does look nice on NNR's seat tho. I desperately need to do a thread update now. A few weeks ago I had her running! I also had all the lights working inc indicators so I'm getting there. The issue is the carbs, while they run and need nothing more than balancing , they look pish. I've tried cleaning 'em up but they're just not at the required standard so I'm on the look out for NOS. Once I have them and make a decision on the rear wheel ( I've all but given up hope of finding a NOS one) but I might find a really nice used one. I'll be in business and NNR will finally hit the road ( weather permitting!) watch this space...
