I remember in the 80's when I had my SD and a few friends had them as well, that they all pulled differently.
One had low end grunt, a sliver one, mine a black one had the middle to top end range, the blue one was smooth, all the way all from the 250 SD engine.
For the members that have driven several SD's and the ones that have several, what's your thoughts?
Does one stand out?
Gee.

I find every SD different- more noticeable if you are able to get off one and straight onto another. Get off a 400 onto a 250 and you think how on earth did Honda sell so many of these 250's, but on a ride-out when I am on a 400 I am always impressed with how the 250's keep up with the 400's. My blue 400 kicker has a less buzzy engine, but seems less stable than my silver kicker if you upset the bars- almost drifting into tank slapper territory.
Put an OEM balancer box on a 250 and its a different bike- it really puts back that mid-range torque that completely disappears without it. I remember being horrified with how much I was wringing my old 250NB's neck when reviewing chest-cam footage- it was either full throttle or heavy braking poor old thing- my 250NA seems to have more grunt....

How cool would that be, a member meet where we get to ride each others bikes, from a 250/400t to a 250 400 and a 450 SuperDream. Whether they be standard or Cafe versions, we sit back at the end of the day and chill, talking about our experiences of each others bikes. Pretty cool if you ask me. Gee.
