I thought it would be a nice idea for us all to tell a story about the time you got your Superdream. If you've got several (or had several) perhaps just pick one to talk about. Here's mine:
It was August 2005. I threw an ebay bid in on an X reg Silver Superdream Deluxe and was outbid at the last second. My bid I think was 300 quid and I was outbid by a tenner from memory. I was on holiday at my parents-in-law's house in France at the time. The day after I got one of those 'second chance' ebay offers and I agreed to go and see the bike when I got home the following week.
That following week I hired a yellow transit van from Redditch and drove down to a place called Seaton to have a look at the bike. I recall it was Devon/Somerset way. Coldplay's 'speed of sound' was playing a few times on the crackly radio I vividly recall. I saw the bike, rode it around the block and did not quibble. She was original but tidy at best..... but rode lovely - bought back memories of the ones I had around five to ten years before. including SBY. 300 pounds and she was in the back of the van on the way back to Redditch.

From memory, I guess it was about March or April 1982, I was riding a Kawasaki KC100 at the time having turned 17 in the December 1981. I can remember seeing an ad, in the local free paper, for a Superdream. T reg (AVT 80T) for £150 and it was very local to me. When I arrived I went round the back of a semi detached house to see a tanzanite blue CB250N Superdream! I couldn’t believe how poor it’s condition was, there was a large rust patch on the tank and the downpipes were well rusted, it had been used as a daily work commuter and not cared for at all, BUT £150! Only being 17 I hadn’t mastered the art of haggling so I paid the £150 and left like a dog with two tails. You never forget your first love .

At 16 I was an apprentice British Gas Service Engineer spending my time between Bromey, Depot and Old Kent Rd, London Training Centre. My 17 birthday was coming up in March of the next year and my "dream" was to save as much as I could of my £28 a week for a new Superdream. As a regular West Ham supporter I would go in Eddy Grimsteds , Honda Dealer of Barking , London and look at all the lovely bikes on offer, particularly the XL'x and Superdreams. Over the months I saved a good amount up and mum & dad got a loan from Barclays for me for the rest towards the £600 odd Superdream. I put a deposit down on a Candy Bourgogne Red CB250NA, only to be told near the date of collection they could not get one in stock, but had a Black one ! So Black it was to be. On my Birthday at the end of March 1980, my uncle Rob, an experience motorcyclist and my aunt Christine took me to collect the Superdream From Eddy Grimsteads. Which involved going through the Blackwall Tunnel, London from my home in Orpington,Kent. I rode home on the back pillion on the Black CB250NA to my delight. I had ridden for the first time at a trial park before this date, on a Yamaha TY100 I think tying to master the clutch and gear change ! Lol. Any how, my uncle Rob, helped me ride the Superdream around our close and up the road, until we felt I could take to the road fully. In truth when I ventured out looking back I was still struggling with it all let alone riding on the road with traffic. But the roads were so much quieter than todays, but in a short while I was riding up and down to the Old Kent Road, to the training centre. Going on to ride regularly out with mates on there RD's to The Little Chef on the A2, for Friday night bike meets with tens of other bikers. Happy days indeed. Thank you for reading.

My first SD ,it was a 400 in blue, to be honest I was'nt over impressed with the styling but the bike was almost brand new and I needed a bigger bike as I had recently passed my test and my girlfriend of only five months said she would buy it for me ,as I said I was'nt impressed with the styling but it only took me a couple of days to fall in love with that bike, and the girlfriend ? well we've been together for 40 years now .Just wish I'd kept the bike as well

Possibly a Frettons L/Spa bike or Knotts or even Coopers of Langley all in business then

So it was 2006/7......cannot remember exactly where it was in Brum, possibly Chelmsley Wood......certainly one of those types of 'tougher' places in north Birmingham. From memory around 250 to 300 quid changed hands.....and there it was. This was a picture of my son on the bike some time after....

It just wasn't a Superdream I bonded with, if that makes any sense.

Never had anything to do with superdreams the only people i knew who had them were the king twins nice lads still ride now but on beema's and as long as i known them ride the same bikes.i got transferred to harworth which was ironic as the last time i was there i was not welcome .as i was new i got a s**t job salvaging a coal face ,one of the guys seen i came to work on a bike and as i was a fitter ,if i knew how to repair motorcycles. For months i would fob him off then one day he said he needs the bike gone he is moving house and just wants the cost of the exhaust that cost £120.all i knew it was a honda .so went to mansfield with the trailer and he rolls out a blue 250 superdream in very good standed condition but a motad exhaust.Got it home battery and fuel and it started but soon found the problem as soon as it got hot it cut out found it was the stator ebay was not around bike shop in doncaster not able to get me one but able to send it off for repair another £120 getting to be not a cheep bike but i was wrong it ran faultlessly for 4 years wished it had a bit more go but i could not keep off it it became my runabout .then one summers day put the leather on to hot for that ad swapped for my denim.got to work no disc lock left in the other jacket.i had been doing a job out by then the deputy found me and what was the colour of the bike i had come on i said blue its your bike then the cricket club on the welfare at the side of the pit had seen a group pushing a bike into the woods from the pit.at the end of the shift the security guard was waiting for me and took me to what was left of my bike .they were probably unable to start it so put a match to it so that was the end of that.insurance paid out and wanted another superdream but a 400 found one in wakefield that was in 2008 and its still with me and just as reliable as the 250 .If you had asked me in the 80s do you think you will have a superdream in the future i would not even answer you.

So it,s Friday the 16th July 1999 and I,d been aching to get a bike after around 8 years without one, I worked close to Chesterfield Motorcycle Centre when they were in Calow and had noticed they,d got a black early 250 SD in at £695 and very tidy too, the salesmam asked me if I was interested and I said yes, he also said that they,d got a CM250T coming in tomorrow , I always liked the look of those back in the day so said I,d pop round and have a look, so he took my number, the next day was glorious sunshine and I could,nt wait for the call, around 3 o'clock the the call came so I nipped up with a mate to have a look,it was,nt perfect but I really was smitten, a short test ride and £408 later ( yes £408) it was mine , owned that bike for 15 years before I sold it , it was tired and I sold it around 3 years back, I browse eBay and Gumtree waiting for it to show it,s face , I have seen it twice on Ebay but not for a while, Where are you NWF805X ?
