sorry not SD related.
just been to tesco to do my weekly shop and was turned away as the store was too full. this was at about 11am (probably a bad time of day to go) but my question is this, how are we going to cope with a gradual lifting (when it happens) of lockdown restrictions and still maintain a sensible level of social distancing?

Social distancing does not seem to apply to Tesco staff though. I go at 9pm to shop and see them all gathered around the staff entrance having a chat and fag, one even passed his fag to someone else for a drag! These people are not even 1m apart.
Same thing happens at Morrisons but they gather at the store entrance.
When I went to Lidl, the poor girl on the till scared as they hadn't been provided with any protection, no gloves, mask or sanitiser. She said there was talk of them putting up a plastic screen.
I just hope things don't get worse when Bojo starts to lift things.

I know what you mean andy, I saw an appeal on the local village facebook page for hand sanitiser from a lady who's daughter works at aldi, because they werent being provided with it by aldi. disgusting behaviour by an employer

I have to say I have been at work all week in a 300 seat office with 10 people in it
We worked in the reception/adhoc meeting area rather than in our office space (me and 2 of my team) to ensure we could work together but comply with the companies social distancing guidelines
Probably half a dozen bottles of sanitiser around that area, more in the wash rooms and kitchens - I work for a good and proactive employer

I'm lucky in that too pete, my boss is a really good guy he likes to know all his staff personally and he's a bike guy, our firms done what it can with sanitiser etc and I'm sure they'll be working ways out that we can work and social distance. I just dont see how its going to happen everywhere else, like pavements, if everyones out and about I think its going to be a major problem

In a nutshell - we're not... At the current rate, there is going to be a second wave of this virus, just watch.

The virus is out there we,ve got to do what we can to protect ourselves scary, when lockdowns ease wherever we live we are potentially at more risk of infection, I work for a industrial health and safety equipment supplier and have been working throughout , you wouldn't believe how busy we,ve been , scary....

Hardcore trance and drum and bace comes from my workshop most days and I shout alot at the TV what I am doing when it's not doing what I want and the dog will get some but he looks at me and cocks his leg and walks off.but the best is when I went to the garage to fill the scooter up and forgot and put my right leg down when I got to the pumps.a guy on a Harley pispot helmet large dark glasses with a scull crossbones neck warmer up to my nose pit boots on jogging bottoms and my old leather on screening and cursing filling the bike up.they all weighted for me to pay before they did social distancin got it to a T

Took the dogs for a walk tonight on the local park and there,s a guy I know that works in a special hospital , however I knew there had been Covid cases there , to cut a long story short he had been tested positive 3 weeks ago along with his partner that also works at the same place and quite a few staff and inmates too, he,s 42 and a quite fit cyclist he said it was like having a pole rammed straight through his chest and that other staff members had hardly any illness at all that were positive, it spreads very quick , the closer and more people together the faster the spread , Stay Safe ..

I may be thinking too cynically but my concern is that the plan is to "allow" people to get the disease to build up herd immunity whilst not overwhelming the health service. To keep the current measures in place until we get a vaccine will destroy our economy seeing as this will take 12-18 months by all accounts... :-(

They would need to have anti-body tests on a very large sample to see how the "herd" is doing. I had the Flu in early January (not in the UK), probably some type of normal flu, but high temp. muscle ache, dry cough. But if it were in the news more then, I would have been worried it was Covid with relatively moderate symptoms. (had a Flu Jab in Nov.) How will we ever know if we have had it? I will remain in scared mode!
