There's a few non-original parts on her, the seat cowl and 2 into 1 Motad for example. The main thing for us first is to get her running and go from there. The front brakes are binding so a strip down and refurb of the calipers will be in order with new pads. I have some parts gathered from a while ago, such as plugs, oil filter, a full gasket set and even an aftermarket seat cover.
On my old 250N the only addition was a rack and top box.
The only picture I have from about 84 or 85.

Good base for a project
Looks like some one has taken a hammer to the headlight ears - when you get replacements the ears are different on the NC then the earlier models

It's plastic! I've never had to look closely at it before.
I can't see any numbers on it. The rim is chrome though. I'll have to tidy up that wiring. There's a fair few been used all over the bike.

those spades on the back of the headlight are a short waiting to happen The previous owner could have used black tape at least I think that needs an original headlight casing back on it

Or even duck tape in lieu of the seal on the engine bolts and holding the two halves of the airbox rubbers together which is what I discovered on my CM

I didn't realise Honda had done it - no mention of those seals in Haynes & it was before this or the previous forum, so I cut them off & cleaned the bolts up. Engine ran great when I put it back in the bike, except for the oil pouring out of the cylinder base

Engine ran great when I put it back in the bike, except for the oil pouring out of the cylinder base I have an NOS pair of those bolts (they'll end up on the na due to a later set of barrels) but I shall measure the rubber sleeve as I'm thinking I can lay my hands on the bonding agent. if that is the case they can be made up quite easily, all they need is a good key for the bonding agent then 30 minutes in the oven at 100 degrees c

That would be handy, especially for 250s, I don't think they're available anymore. The 400 version had gone awol when I realised my mistake years back, so I sealed the slots in the cylinders with gasket goo (rebuild number 2). A few year later they re-appeared, so I grabbed a pair & fitted them on rebuild number 3 The one's on my 250 looked ok when it was stripped, but I had the slots welded up to do away with the problem forever.
