That will be a very nice bike and a good place to start. If I can help let me know, but I posted almost everything on my first restoration already so just take a look(Two bike restoration). Do post pictures of your progress, and keep plenty as you go for reference before you take it to bits !!

Thanks guys. Have now finished the strip down and locked the shed up until after Christmas.Was good fun, really enjoyed it. Looking forward to starting the restauration in the new year!

Hello everyone. I have bought a used cylinder head for the bike which looks to be in good order , however the one on the bike is a NC and the one I have bought is a NB which is an earlier version I assume. The only differences I can see in the two heads are one seems to have more rebates on the back of the head and the cooling fins are thinner in some areas. These just seem to be weightsaving measures and don't seem to affect the mating surfaces. Can anyone tell me if there is any reason why I can't use the older head on my engine? Any help much appreciated. Thanks. Paul
