Hi Andy, I am also a member of a few forums. Judging by the warm welcome so far this one is among the best, and fairly active unlike some. I am right up north, Fochabers. If you are doing the North coast 500 you would be close. Colour wise, I have already learned from this forum that silver bikes are much faster than black and have always been my favourite colour.

Hi Sandy - that is quite far north - fantastic area though - and one I love - rode LEJOG a couple of years ago and the best bit was there to JOG without a doubt - you have some good riding near you. Yoy never know though - I will do the NC500 at some point (if it quietens down a bit) Colour is taboo in this forum - sorry I mentioned it The PC stance is defintiely Silver however Looking forward to photos of progress

Thanks for the warm welcome. I have a lead on a stash of parts including the parts I need, clocks, reverse comstars and side rails. I will post some more pics of bike and parts at the weekend if I am successful.

I am not convinced the wheels are incorrect - it may be a late registered early NB with the wrong decal on the side panels I would be changing the decal as those wheels look pretty good

I am also unsure if it is the right way to go, but I will decide when I see the other wheels, which are a bargain. I can always sell on anything I don't need.(New decals would be the sensible option, admittedly) I will post some photos when I get them, a second opinion is always appreciated.

I'm with Pete, my '81 250NB was a UK X reg, but it's not a deluxe. When I first painted it a few years back I found suitable non-deluxe decals on Ebay, but when I repainted recently I could only find Deluxe decals sets in the colour I wanted. I was going to cut 'Deluxe' off, but found some separate non-deluxe side panel decals in the right colour. Could be something like that happened here.

Correct clocks for year now fitted, with mileage 'adjusted' to match old clocks.
