Hello everybody, New member from North East scotland, just picked up a 1982 cb250n. Plan is to try and return to as near original as possible over the winter, if I can work out what's not original. Only a couple of photos for now, just stuck it in my cellar as it is pouring down outside.

Hi Pete, Thanks, I spotted the front mud guard and the missing grab rails. I also think the wheels do not match the 'deluxe' stickers, cheaper to change the sticker I think. I haven't had a chance to ride it far yet, idling at >2000 rpm, need to look at that (+ no mot/tax...yet). If anyone sees anything else wrong, please speak up. I will post up some more pics in the appropriate forum once I start having a proper look at it.

Green!, Since it's an 82 they should be red.
So far that's :-
Front mud guard Side rails Clocks or new cards.
and Possibly wheels if it was a deluxe from new. Not sure how to find that out.
looks like I'm going to be busy. On the other hand, it's useable as is.

Correct - The commstars were on the N model, the NA model and the NB - reverse comstars were on the NB deluxe The serial no should tell you which model you have 2000020 ~ 2020270 is the CB400N and CB250N 2100005 ~ 2124015 is the CB400NA and CB250NA 2200010 ~ 2210382 is the CB400NB and CB250NB 2300001 ~ 2310205 is the CB400NC and CB250N-DC

Welcome along. Looks like someone has added the deluxe decals to the side panels. Either that or changed the wheels.
Enjoy.

Hi Sandy Welcome to the forum - I'm in a few of these for different bikes and this one is definitely the nicest - plenty of great in depth knowledge too. Bike looks great - plenty of winter fun tinkering with that ready for spring. Got mine a few months ago and joined this forum straight away - where are you ? - I'm in north east england - near Durham - might be close enough for a meet in the spring ? Silver wouldn't have been my first choice - red first then black like yours
