Ive bought a pair of superdream wheels but they differ in looks and numbers on the wheels This is what is on the bike at the moment   And this is what ive bought   Can anyone tell me which rear wheel is correct ? The bike is a 1982 400 superream |

Looks like both correct, the one you bought has been painted and needs repainted perhaps, and leave the paint off the plate spoke edges this time (M/Fed OCT 1981) and the ones on the bike are original (M/Fed NOV 1982).

my wheel looks nothing like the bottom one it is the same as the top one the bottom one looks like cx500 to me   |

The bottom one has had a horrible spray job with gold reddy brek it looks like. Even the hardware has not escaped it.  |

Do you have a more zoomed out photo of the hub? especially on the sprocket side? Could it be off a CB650 perhaps or something like that.

Ah yes.....the ribbed centre hub is more prominent on the reddy brek wheel.
CB750/900, CX500 etc are possibilities. Either way you can discount it now....or flog it on fleabay.
Mind you, from memory, wasn't the CX from the reverse comstar era a shaftie?

as far as I recall all the cx’s were shafties, once rode a 500 and didnt like the feel of the back end rising under hard acceleration, alien feeling and sadly put me off shaft drive for life
