I have a 1977 400 Dream and the wheels have no black plastic caps. I was wondering if there was anyway to know if these are 400T wheels with the caps missing or 400N wheels which never had them in the first place. - thoughts?

There would be two small holes at the bottom of the plate spokes, about 20mm up from the rim to secure the plastic caps, any there?
Are the comstar spokes aluminium or steel?

If the black caps are missing, the Dream and CX wheel still possess the holes. See examples, top one is the Dream, bottom Super Dream. There are also other differences between these wheels.

No holes and alloy spokes - so I guess superdream wheels - thanks!
Are there any other differences I should be concerned about? (having just rebuild the callipers to find a superdream piston in a dream (Tokico) calliper), I want to make sure all is OK

If the piston was 38 x 38 ish should be ok, same as the CB250N caliper, if it was 38 Dia x 35mm NO, as that would be for a Nissin CB400N Caliper.

yep it was 38 x 35 so from a nissin caliper - might explain why the brakes were so poor!
Got the right one now - 38 x 38
