Last Saturday I was given an Amal 389 Monobloc Carb in bits in a box and asked if I could do anything with it - it is for a 60's RE 250 Continental GT After Twice through the cleaner it looked worse as it then showed all the corrosion Spent 3 evenings this week hand polishing all the parts with washingup liquid and 0000 grade steel wool Put it all back through the cleaner last night and a final polish this morning, put all the parts together and

If I ever need one can I have one of your NOS ones I'm serious (not taking the Mike).....the 389 and 689 Monoblocs were O.E on the BSA Lightning, 1966-1967. Apparently the 689 was discontinued as far back as the late sixties......concentric carbs came in to replace them. They are out there but quite rare (689). I'm assuming the 389 was used on many more models hence not rare at all.
