You would have liked their old shop in Wolverton FB , proper wooden oil stained floors and a genuine "service , Parts" hatch you went to . Not my favourite dealer but I did buy a new XR250 from them 18 years ago ! Bet the smell was amaze balls in there!!

Yep , pretty close to "traditional Bike shoppe" smell , though Stratford Road Motorcycles just a bit further along was better from the aromatic perspective as they had old bikes in that leaked more oil !

One thing I remarked on earlier in this thread.....the place was odourless....even in the workshop.
The technicians were wearing surgical gloves.
Imagine if you got abducted by aliens in 1982 from there and had just been released back......what would you be thinking?

Part of me knows what you will come back with.....of course say if I am wrong.
1) Kids don't die on bikes anymore 2) Pollution is less......vehicles are so much cleaner 3) Employees have a much safer and cleaner environment in which to work
There will be more.

Which is all cancelled out stupid political correctness and lack of common sense!

Today is the best day of your life if it is not tomorrow do something about it,why do people want to live in the past. My dad is of the same opinion. Not with bikes but with our home town. He loves progress and slates people who are moaning about the town's history being 'eroded'. He is annoyed with many aspects of the rose coloured spectacle thing and believes people are only remembering the good in those times. <iframe width="25.039999999999964" height="2.9200000000000017" style="position: absolute; width: 25.039999999999964px; height: 2.9200000000000017px; z-index: -9999; border-style: none;left: 15px; top: -5px;" id="MoatPxIOPT0_4897778" scrolling="no"></iframe> <iframe width="25.039999999999964" height="2.9200000000000017" style="position: absolute; width: 25.04px; height: 2.92px; z-index: -9999; border-style: none; left: 1190px; top: -5px;" id="MoatPxIOPT0_25530476" scrolling="no"></iframe> <iframe width="25.039999999999964" height="2.9200000000000017" style="position: absolute; width: 25.04px; height: 2.92px; z-index: -9999; border-style: none; left: 15px; top: 87px;" id="MoatPxIOPT0_33966158" scrolling="no"></iframe> <iframe width="25.039999999999964" height="2.9200000000000017" style="position: absolute; width: 25.04px; height: 2.92px; z-index: -9999; border-style: none; left: 1190px; top: 87px;" id="MoatPxIOPT0_34147706" scrolling="no"></iframe> You have to admit though Mark......bikes had more soul back then. I want carbs on a bike.

When is back then, bikes have been around for over 100 years.the oldest I have rode was a 1914 royal Enfield..up to bikes of today.there is not one two wheeled vehicle I have not enjoyed riding.and I have road some s**t in my time.i have bikes from the 40s 50s 60s70s 80s 90s and 00s and enjoy all of them.i have a superdream and I like the bike alot and will keep it till I can't ride it no more ,its way down the list of my favourite bike but that's just my opinion.there are lots of nice bikes out there and the bikes I have got an itch for at this present time are modern bikes.a BMW R nine is on my got to get but I am a tight b*****d but patient.as bikes having souls i do not know,I just like riding motorcycles.
