My head hurts now after taking a look at this, I put cheap supermarket fuel in all my cars & bikes, I wonder how my Superdream carbs are holding up as last serviced 4 years ago, still runs fine on the asda fuel & I will keep running on it for the moment as seems to be ok in my case, I'm a "if it's not broke don't fix it type of guy"

I’m the same Richard, never had a problem with Supermarket fuel in any vehicle I have or have had,I never bothered having any bikes “converted” to run on unleaded that was daylight robbery suffered by the gullible in my opinion . If you believe all the bollox spouted about nasty supermarket fuel you’d likely put bits of metal in your fuel tank or wear a magnetic bracelet and worship the moon lol.

I don't believe it, I've been watching the YouTube channel called the workshop where he is testing this by putting all sorts of different carburettor parts in pure ethanol, jets orings diaphragms etc, so far absolutely nothing has happened.

I use "Whatever Petrol Station I'm Passing at the Time my Trip Hits the Number I've Determined to Fill Up At" petrol.
I think the only thing you would need to worry about if any of the article is true is fuel being stood during winter.

On a bike I do as JonnyHonda says and just fill up as and when is convenient , in the car I usually use Tesco or Asda . I've had a car sat on the drive for a year , so it was either scrap it or put it in for an MOT , went in for the MoT and passed emissions (& everything else) by a factor 0f 20x still with last years fuel in it and runs nicely .

The only difference you’ll notice is in yer wallet,I had my CBR1000RR Fireblade on a Dyno once with V-Power and once with Asdas finest, results were just over one horsepower more with ASDA fuel,149.7 BHP.Never proven that V-Power or whatever does anything it claims.

Next all you supermarket fuel fans will be saying how you shouldn’t be using a 10w40 semi synth bike oil and that you save shed loads by using Morrison or Asda’s finest car multi grade oil in your Superdreams over the years. But then wonder why your clutch is slipping as you try and pull away from the lights. Oo er, talk about adding fuel to the fire. As you were..

I use quality recommended oil in my beamers (dry clutch) and Halfords 10w40 in everything else, and I water down my fork and brake fluid to make it go further.

Again oil is oil and if it has the correct specification stated on the tin it will do.Cheap oil usually Halfords but I have put Asda’s or other supermarket in some engines, changed at right mileage why waste money? For cars I use oil my brother buys in bulk, most garages stick cheap bulk bought oil in your cars

Think we've been here before but I like to put "decent" oil in and change twice as often rather than "premium" oil half as often . My theory being I like to get the "bits" out of the engine rather than have them circulate for another 3000miles .
