No Pete later ones are metal early ones plastic but used to split

More plastic coated than totally plastic, Dan.
422 numbered part is the plastic coated one.
449 is the fully metal one.....later superseded to 469.

Both mine are metal, I do have a nos plastic one, but in my opinion the metal is a million times nicer the plastic looks cheap

The plastic appeared to fade and as mentioned before, sometimes crack over time. Also agree that the fully metal ones do appear much more classier. Can you believe we are discussing petrol caps? It's all good.......and it's what enthusiasts do.

Even my metal one has faded slightly compared to where the alloy latch goes!

Compared to the plastic ones, the metal ones just give a nice quality 'ting ting' as you but them clockwise up after re-fuelling. A simply wonderfuel sound.
Unsure if anyone else shares this view.
