I'm actually not even a newbie to these bikes yet. I was wondering are there any typical things I should look out for when buying one? I'm looking at a 250 at the minute as a project for the wife to ride. Also what can I expect from it?
Thanks!

You will get about 70 mph more if you ring it's neck, 40-50 MPG & very reliable if you maintain it, just make sure you get a good runner & pretty clean condition, if you need a bit more power think of getting the 400, fun bike though & loads of help on this great forum to help you keep whatever you buy on the road, good luck

Welcome to the forum, great bikes superdreams, depends on your budget , listen for metallic rattling noise from engine (cam chain rattle) , check fork seals , frame for severe rust ( usually pretty good ) , check brakes, seat base ( these tend to rust ), and ride the bike , how does it feel , loadsa fun to be had on these beasts 👍Enjoy
