It's okay I suppose, Steve.....but a kind or regurgitation of what we have heard for many years now - especially from the likes of this chap 'Gary James'.
Regarding the 250's top speed and why there is a joke on here I guess started by me about the speed of silver 250's.......I have genuinely had approx 90mph on a dual carriageway in Redditch on mine around ten years ago and she had more in her to give!!! This with a 13st 30 something (at the time) riding it as well. Honestly - this is the truth.

Why do people also seem to quote and rely on this 'how many left' guff as well.
It is worrying that folk are so gullible.

"The two-stroke brigade got the CBR250" surely that's not correct the CBR250 was a four stroke and only available in Japan as far as I'm aware.

47 years now officially riding bikes and some unofficially, the honda 250g4 was out then when i hit 17 and that was a great little lightweight bike with a super engine now very sought after on the classic race meets.my time on a 250 was very short .1979 came and the cb900f was the bike for me i think it was and still is one of the best looking bikes of the day.i do not know how many bikes i have had but i have had most of the 250s of the late 70s to 80s as they were cheep. 2004 was when i got my first superdream not through wanting one ,but as i get most of my bikes through word of mouth.had the bike for 4 years it was my runabout a very good unmolested standard bike .i would not say it was slow for a 80s four stroke 250 it was happy at 70 on the a1 going to work and i remember getting over 90 on the speedo on a down hill run on the 614 but it was not quick most 250s of the day were quicker and the two strokes left it standing.the big fault with the superdream it is a heavy bike the engine was a compromise for the market at the time .when it got stolen i wanted another superdream but it at to be a 400.i now have a 400 and it ticks all the boxes and that extra power makes a good bike great i still love the the styling of the 80s honda so got one of its bigger brothers.why there is a big upset when someone finds a old mag pulling a bike to bits most of the bikes i have now have had bad write ups in there day who cares enjoy your bike for what it is now not for what it was.
