Hi all, Does anyone have or have some photos of the SR1 fairing kit (Honda painted).
This was a kit that turned your Superdream into a CB1100R (well looks only) and was marketed in the 80s by Honda in their accessory brochure.
It consisted on a 3/4 fairing, mudguard, tank panels, side panels and a seat tail. It came as a painted or unpainted kit.
Sorry this is my first post to keep my account alive! We are dealing with a family bereavement at the moment but I hope to fully participate in a couple of months.
Mark

Hi Mark.
Thanks for your post.
I'm pretty sure we have a picture of this somewhere if it's the kit I think it is.
Not near a PC now but I'm sure we can dig it out.
Cheers

Yep that's the one. Here is a photo my 250NBDX with it on from the late 80s. This was an unpainted kit done by Dream Machine but its not quite right. Did anyone have a genuine Honda painted kit? Or has anyone still got one? From what I remember the one in the ad is not quite the same as sold. Somewhere I have an old MCN or MCW test in b/w which shows some differences. There is no 250N on the side but in its place is SR1. The white on the seat tail seems to follow a different line.

I suppose the side fairings on the j reg bike, recently posted on the ebay thread, are from this kit?

Hi Cheggy, Didn't see the j reg bike but one that age would more likely be a cb450dx?
I was going to put the kit on a CB400NC but as I've had that from new it would be crazy to spoil the originality. So over the years I've acquired various parts to build one using a 450 engine.
I remember reading ads for Queens Park Motors in Manchester selling new Superdreams with kits already fitted when they were disposing of 250s.

The bike in question is J reg suffix Mark, not J reg prefix. This suggests there is a Superdream out there which was registered between Aug 1970 to Jul 1971.....which is ludicrous.
