Ryka's Cafe is still going strong and was / is a great meeting place for bikes. I well remember many trips down to Box Hill in the early eighties on my SD with my mates on their bikes. The weather was always warm and sunny - probably because we never went there when it was pissing down!!!! The scenes in this film were very much the norm right through until the late eighties when bike ownership among the young got too expensive and the lure of cars took over.
The soundtrack is spot-on too : The Police. So much a part of my new-found independence!!!!!!
I hope you enjoy it as much as I did and, for the younger members here, this was what biking at the weekend was all about - it is what you looked forward to all week while you beavered away at your boring, non-descript job.
