Hi,l have a strange wirring noise from them speedometer on my 82 250 and have also noticed one of my 400nc's making the same sound. It starts as you reach about 20mph and carries on until you slow to around 15 when it abruptly stops.l have also found that if l give it a smart tap while riding it also stops but then comes back. Any ideas of the cause and of a known remedy? Cheers Nix

They need stripping down and greasing up is what I've been told, mine does the same now and again and I get a bit of a wavy needle to.

I have replaced the cable and made no difference I found it was in the speedo so I take the cable out of the speedo and spray duck oil in around the drive I found it lasts for about 7/8 months and starts again I have only just sprayed it about a month ago and that should do through the summer  |
