Bodie's right, I ran a 250 CDI on my 400N for a long while after the original failed & couldn't detect any difference in performance. Not tried it the other way round (400 CDI on 250) though. The carbs can be a pain & a few people on here have had to run them through an ultrasonic cleaner several times before getting them running right. The CDI is a possible though. My 400NA CD developed a fault where it wouldn't rev & I couldn't do more than 30mph. The fault was intermittent though, it cleared after a few miles, only to recur then clear again next time I used the bike. This went on for a few days, then it packed up altogether with no spark at all.
