My first roadworthy moped experience was a vespino rally , in orange , with a well made wooden top box , rode it a few months to work but had to move on to a ss50 😀

As a 16/17 year old I was too ‘ard’ For a topbox, you never saw Henry winkler aka the fonz, Barry Sheen or evil kenevel with a top box

My first bike, a C70, had a fibreglass white top box on the "back rack" and very useful it was too. I didn't care what it said about me because I was smitten by the sensation of getting about on two motorised wheels - no pedalling or walking. I need a top box for my "new" Transalp and will probably be concerned that it in some way it "matches" the 2004 panniers. Daft really as a white fibreglass one would be just as useful. Have I really learned anything?

“A Bikes not a bike without a top box” I’d always say, usually Rickman but did have a new Craven on my Starfire in 1970

Yes I had a nice little blue top box on my first bike, an RXS100 Energy Induction I also had a little cockpit fairing on it as well. The top box was handy as the bike was my only form of transport and was used to get me to work every day so handy for the lunch box, waterproofs etc. Haven't had one on a bike since though.

Do I need to comment Not really.... Mind you, this discussion is regarding historic boxes.......so was your box big back in the day? Or has it grown over the years?
