Sorry what has happened Rich it's a bummer cost a few £s to put back as before but if it had been the blade it would have been over a grand to put back probably 😡 I remember a few years ago my blade blow over in the wind and it cost over £700 to put back as was and that was me doing it myself not a garage😬 Yes bodie I was thinking the same if the blade was hit in the same way it would of been a nightmare & the plastics alone would of been a couple of grand, the Superdream is a strong old girl & will soon be back to her old self, thanks info re- indicators, I think I may have that sorted from a kind old gent I know

I say nothing short of a public flogging would be appropriate to anyone causing actual bodily harm to a Super Dream...He won't do it again. Tough Love is needed here mate.

How galling!
It was, as you say, an accident - and that's what his insurance is for. He should either do the decent thing and contribute to the cost of your parts at the very least, or give you his insurance details and let you get repairs done at a bike garage of your choosing. If I'd damaged a friend or relative's bike or car, I'd be falling over myself to make it right, even if I was skint.
I know you say you don't want to make an issue of it because they are financially up against it, and your attitude does you credit, but in my experience, if there are absolutely no consequences whatsoever, he is is less likely to learn a lesson from it.

Really awkward situation as cannot go through his insurance as big excess & no claims will go up for him, to be honest I don't give a hoot about him it's my daughter that will suffer as he would just use it against me if I demand anything, if he was a decent type of guy he would off at least offered something as he has put me out of pocket ! It's made me realise he's obviously a bit of a waster this has confirmed what I already knew, but to keep the peace I will just put up with it to save a family bust up.

Plus you have to be carful with "small claims" like these, a lot of insurance companies just write stuff off, bide your time...
