I used my bike for work today & as it was a dry afternoon I decided to go & visit my daughter & grandkids for a few hours she live around 10 miles away so nice little run for the bike. i parked out on the road on my Superdream, I was there around a hour & half & son in law came in looking very sheepish ! he came out with the dreaded words "sorry mate I've just knocked your bike over but it's ok I've had a look around & it's fine !" it it was pitch black & really hard to see any damage but only thing I could see was both right hand indicators hanging off, I was most worried about the tank but that looked fine, he was very apologetic but I just don't think he realised quite how pissed off I was/am ! my daughter could tell by my face & she knows how much my bikes mean to me, I know he didn't do it deliberately & no point starting a family row so I went & got it home to get a better look, it's not as bad as it could of been I suppose, I just cannot believe it really but it is what it is.

Really sorry mate, I would be livid, but as you said it was an accident, and I’m sure he feels terrible about it.
Nothing you can’t put right, and make sure you send him the bill.

ouch, how you feeling now rich now you have seen the damage. Gutted really Steve just glad it's repairable the tank has a very tiny line where the throttle assembly made contact & it's only visible if you really look closely so I will leave that but it needs 2 new indicators & a bit of paint & time, he hit it on front wheel & I was a little concerned about the forks, it rode fine on the way home & all seems true, I will get a much better look over it in daylight tomorow fingers crossed nothing more than I've already seen.

Trouble is Andy they are really struggling like most young people bringing up a family, it's going to be down to me really, I just hope he learns from it a looks where he's going in future.

I know the feeling well mines been on its side twice this year its gut wrenching Mine was dropped on its left side in 2016 which was my fault as the side stand slipped as I was on a slight hill & clutch lever snapped & 1 indicator broke, todays fall was a little worse but I will be able to repair it ok, the indicators are pattern so I will just get two of those from silvers & the rest is just a bit of time & paint

Your family really have it in for your bikes Rich! Such a shame, although I feel a bit sorry for the lad, must be an awful feeling driving into your father-in-law's pride & joy. Hope you can get it sorted without too much expense.

Ask him to chip in for repairs and give money back to daughter just to let him know you have to pay for your mistakes

Sorry what has happened Rich it's a bummer cost a few £s to put back as before but if it had been the blade it would have been over a grand to put back probably 😡 I remember a few years ago my blade blow over in the wind and it cost over £700 to put back as was and that was me doing it myself not a garage😬

Not much more to say Rich, I’m sure most of us have had similar mishaps. Life has its downs so we can have the ups too, just hope you have more ups than downs 👍

Same position most of us would take - it's the right approach but does not help the emotions
