Sorry, my one was actually bought in 2001, it cost £35 and it was the last one they had in stock. I have still got the receipt, doesn't say which manufacturer supplied it. Pity they don't still do them, even allowing for 16 years of inflation & price rises, that would still be a good price

I saw some advertised by Hepco&Becker, I think they are still available, look quite posh but if I remember rightly they had side pannier frames as well. As for a weekend ride out, I am going to do my best to get something organised again (the level crossing B&B is up and running again); maybe we should keep the dates flexible until a bit closer to the time, I find it easier if things are not fixed a long time in advance!

Sounds good to me! Just try & avoid TT, 26th May to 8th June, Southern 100, 9th to 12th July and Classic TT, 18th to 31st August.

I believe there are two *official* Honda racks - one of them I think was made under licence in this country by Rickman. To my knowledge the genuine racks have the plastic knurled knobs which you remove and the rack hinges upwards to allow seat removal. These racks also replace the rear grab rails. There are also many other racks which were made, some allowing grab rails to remain in place. Here's mine. Stafford bargain at £40 four years ago, it had recently been rechromed.

Honda stuff was made by Rickman and badged as Eurodesign if my memory is correct,I have one in need of rechroming .There were quite a few rack makers around then. That one you have looks like a Rickman Nick

Yes I know, heard it all before blah blah. But let’s see. Really want to get one of my SD’s picture at the Ace Cafe, hopefully we get a fair Spring.

On Racks This one has 2 knobs but I swapped them for 8mm SS bolts - carry a 13mm spanner in my bike jacket pocket to hinge up while I am out - grab rails remain in place This one off SME replaces the grab rails Bonus is it has no upright Which will make it ideal to fit the top box I bought at Stafford Only think odd is where the knob locks down the swing, a bolt through the horizontal bar upload facebook picturehow to upload image online

One of those in your pictures looks to be (in my mind) the later 'genuine' one.
As DFS pointed out, Rickman seemed to be tasked with the job of producing the genuine Honda racks. I have no doubt mine is a Rickman item - same rack was on the bike when I bought it in London from the original owner - he paid for it as a Honda extra accessory in 1981. Same with the genuine crash bars......produced via Rickman.

I have had 3 or 4 different carriers for Superdreams, the Rickman being the best in my opinion.Got two carriers at mo and going to adapt one to fit my Hawk.
