Did you know the paper counterpart to the photocard driving licence will be abolished from 8 June 2015?

the green and pink paper one .. Thought that if you had the old one it did not matter. I was never going to subscribe to the last system, whereby you have to renew every ten years plus get a fine for forgetting...just more tax. So I never applied for the plastic one. In fact my better half did and they kepted her paper licence then, this caused allsorts of stupid issues. so I never bothered.

The society is becoming paperless what with tax disc going etc.
There will certainly be a lot more trees.

Latest advice from DVLA is not to shred your counterpart, If you are going on holiday you may need to produce it to hire a vehicle at least until insurance/hire companies are familiar with the new system of the driver/rider obtaining a code to show your endorsements.
