What type/make of drive chain should I be buying? I have not purchased a chain for about 30 years as my CX500 never needed one John

The best you can afford.
DID and EK are good.
Do you need help with the pitch / links associated with your model?

I used to get through chains on my SD very quickly, so I replaced mine with an o-ring chain (and matching sprockets), that lasts a lot longer!

I just dug out my old receipts, the chain is a 520Vx102 H/D O-Ring chain (M610102), 276.15 front sprocket (M027615), 247.41 rear sprocket (M024741), all bought from M&P in Swansea. They fit really well and have been on for over 13000 miles, maybe I needed to adjust it two or three times during that time. I am not sure whether the part numbers are still up to date but they are always happy to advise you on the phone!

Good information. But Careful. OP request was for a CB400T Dream.
520 x 102 is correct for the CB250NB and CB250NDB onwards with 15T Front and 41T Rear. Earlier bikes took 530 chain and sprockets.
520 x 100 is correct for the CB400NB onwards with 16T Front and 36T Rear. Earlier bikes took 530 chain and sprockets.

Hi guys. Picked up a chain from my local bike shop this afternoon.. Was kind enough to remove some links to get the correct number of 100 .. Thanks for all your help.
