I was referring to the RD400E vs CB400N article in the brochure section of this site. That one has top speed tests performed at MIRA so should be irrefutable to the Polizei.
If anyone does have an old mag with some good top speed, power or top speeds I would be very grateful for a scan along with an issue number, date etc. I can provide my email in a PM if that's easier.
I'm currently trying to decode what information I actually am allowed to put into the article. Stuff like colour schemes are not allowed to be in detail for example, unless they are for "notable" reasons. It's a minefield I tells you.

This was the May 1979 copy of "Bike" Magazine, which would have been one of the first tests of the new SuperDream? The Article was actually entitled "Schizoid 400s" Tough gig against the RD400E...

I've dug out some old mags.
One is a Used Motorcycle Guide from 1995 which claims the following:
CB250N (1978-1983) 249cc OHC twin 28hp, 90mph, 50mpg, 380ibs
CB400N (1978-1986) 395cc OHC twin 43hp, 110mph, 50mpg, 385ibs
There are two others I'm also looking through which feature SD's.
One is from 2000 and the other from 2002.
Let me know if you need any of these.

I would say the writer for Used Bike Mag didn't like the Super Dream much.
Thank you so much for the time and effort. I'll get those up as soon into as I can. Writing in specifications in Wiki language takes much more time than one would assume.
Will keep you posted!

I remember before this edition that I have here, under the CB400N write up they used to say every month (it didn't change for ages) 'whisper it.......but the CB400N is a better bike than the CB400/4 it replaced' And it was def 400/4 they stated, not 400T.
That always stuck in my mind because I believed it even if thousands didn't.

This is the aforementioned "Bike" test on the CB250NA. Should be enough to get the specs to ram down the Wikipedia gullet....

I've a feeling the nutters will still delete it because it's 35 years out of date and I bet there'll be a coffee stain on it somewhere. Pee Emm Ess Ell

Thank you again!
I would love to ride the 400/4 back to back with a 400N just because it would seem people just wanted to unfairly hate the Super Dream because it was seen as an inferior replacement in many eyes.

I think History has decided that the 400 Superdream was a better bike than the 400 four.
I was surprised to learn the so called invincible 400/4 was only 38 odd BHP? Can't quote a Wikipedia source for that currently so possibly not true.....

The 400/4 is a glorious machine - not taking that away from it, just never really in my blood.
But the Superdream is only now just gaining some proper respect I think - often the journo's stated that people would never restore them!!!.
I'm sure the 400/4 went through some bad times but yes it didn't seem to be hated as much.

Had to laugh my c**k off as looking up the 400/4 stats brought up the (brief) Wikipedia article on it and ole Eagleash has had his editing pen slashing through that one as well!

No, he's a Brit. Sounds like a really wild, livin' on the edge dude. "Mad Dog" Eagleash's hobby is philately but he insists on it being called stamp collecting.... en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Eagleash
