I sold my Kawasaki GT550 last weekend, so I have a few spare pound in my pocket. It was a nice looking bike had a big presence, looked more like a 1000cc, however it got me thinking that there were a lot of tappets plugs etc to maintain as well as a lot of stuff to deal with if anything had gone wrong with it. From here on I intend to stay with SDs, Singles and British Twins. I would like to own a fully restored BSA, or AJ but these are out of my price range at the moment. Another favourite would be a Bonnie T100 twin, these are very scares in Ireland and are very expensive. Are there many Bonnies in the UK ? How are they priced? Does anyone now how do the modern fuel injected Bonnies compare with the classic carb Bonnies in terms of quality and price?

I'd say an old Bonnie is going to be even more expensive than an AJ or Matchless. Making strong money over here, but then it depends on which model you go for.
As for the new ones, I don't think they'd have the same character as an original. But then again it'll require much less maintenance! Quality I don't think will be as good...

Most "old Brit" stuff seems to be getting very expensive now and "cult" bikes like the Bonnie more so , if you can afford one probably a decent place to park your money ! I had the Scrambler version of the new Bonnie and seem to be the only person in the country who was not impressed , all the mag tests etc seem to love them . My impression was too much chromed plastic - rear light etc , tool kit was a single allen key , thinly chromed rims and too heavy for its power - but as I say I seem to be in a minority of one with that opinion

T140 750cc Bonne cheapest option but don't overlook the TR7 750cc Tiger, only one carb so no playing with the carbs.Quite a small bike and not that fast and they vibrate to extent things come loose/fall off/fracture most journeys all parts available but I'd go for a Jap early 70s triple/ four they're more fun and reliable,Triumphs are not
