I get over there a couple of times a year, but its 80 odd miles away. The pink building (mining museum?) has a fish pond out the front with some massive carp that live on a diet of fish and chips thrown in by generations of bikers....

I've been a few times, when my kids were small and went on the bikes last year for the first time. A good day out.

Is Matlock Bath famous for anything in particular or is it just a regular town, the name sounds like it might have s bit of history to it.

Is Matlock Bath famous for anything in particular or is it just a regular town, the name sounds like it might have s bit of history to it. Its a Victorian spa town ,people used to travel for miles to take the waters which flowed from natural springs nowadays it's famous for bikes fish and chips and being a tourist trap its a good day out whatever you go in or on .I often go in the car with our lass and my three dogs ,if I'm on my own then its on the bike I've been going there every year since I was seventeen and I got my first bike

The place fascinates me- another example of Victorian "can do" attitude. They didn't let the fact that the place sits in the middle of nowhere and created a seaside resort miles away from the sea.
Actually it would be a good meet point as I bet it's within reach of quite a few members? Scania would have to stay over at Cheggs place of course......

Yes as Terry says used to be a very busy spa town mainly survives from the weekend trade now of which most are bikers especially on a Sunday , bikers do come from all over on a fine warm weekend and you do see a fair mixture of machines ....
