Hi, I was talking to a Garda yesterday who told me that over the years he has attended many traffic accidents, he mentioned to me that when a biker falls off a bike he usually bounces his head a number of times against the road as well as a bit of sliding and sanding also. He said that it is more common than is widely known that guys often loose their helmets after the first bounce due to the strap not been fastened correctly or the strap catch been worn or faulty. Also sometimes people wear too loose fitting helmet and the more the helmet moves on your head the greater the chance of the buckle opening. He said a helmet is fairly useless if it is rolling down the road ahead of you looking for the nearest soccer net to score a goal in Just thought I'd remind yous to check your straps and buckles.
