Was having a think last night while having a few beers Has it been tried and tested in fitting the 400cc barrel and heads onto a 250 bottom end? They look to be exact same engines just bigger holes for the pistons..

I considered this about 30 years ago to make a "350" - the 250 and 400 have different strokes so the barrels are longer on the 400, not worked out what capacity it would give but at a very low compression! I suppose in theory you could shorten a set of 400 barrels and fit to a 250 but it wouldn't be a 400 - best left as a 250 and buy a 400 .

That actualy looks good,assume you drove it on road with MOT etc.?some sort of roll bar would be good idea but the standard Reliant wasn't a safe structure if rolled over anyway
