Thinking of buying a sonic cleaner to clean carbs and any other bits as needed. Anyone have any advice on a particular model and what sort of job they do, are they a worthwhile investment. Cheers

I have a small ultra sonic cleaner I bought from Lidl,it works but you have to let it run several cycles to get good results although I've only used dish washer tablets and cleaned wifes jewelry.I used to use a large industrial one in past work place it wad brilliant cleaning carbs and anything else put in tank.Gunson make various sized units intended for industrial use at affordable prices

I've only used it to clean silver/gold jewelry but my step son has cleaned a couple of Honda C90 carbs using dishwasher tablets with good results, going back to the industrial one I used I put an Amal carb from a Bantam in,the carb was gunged up with old fuel that was like jelly it came out of the tank like new,I recently saw a Gunson one big enough to get couple largeish carbs in on trial at a company I recently worked at think cost was £120 they have a website to see what they have on offer.

Thanks for your input, I'm probably going to treat myself and get one bought. In the great scheme of things its quite a small cost compared to what I'm about to spend on the bike

Came to the same decision myself in the process of rebulding these use a 2.5l tank from maplin which they have on sale for 79.99 delivered, the carbs will just fit one at a time in bits, used proper ultrasonic carb cleaner. so yes definately worth the investment.
