Bought a rusty original mudguard off Ebay.de Germany, got it stripped and chromed at R&S in Failsworth...total £110. The chromer ground the rivets off and chromed the mounting bracket separately...I managed to find some rivet screws that were perfect, he chromed them as well and you'd never know the difference. Looks better than the pattern one that was on when I bought the bike. Done spending now (he said....)

Brilliant - well done.
I did the same a few years ago......the only way to rechrome the mudguards correctly is to separate the bracket......been there, done that.
I had one done without separating it and was never happy with it

Any pics of before and after, by the way?
And to help other members, could you let us know where you got the rivet screws?
My dad sourced mine from his work but would struggle to get them again as he retired after that.
