Hi Has anyone come across new rubbers for the airbox/carb connection? Mine have hardened with age and will make carb removal impossible without removing the whole airbox. I have seen new ones available for the 250 but not the 400. Any thoughts please?

Hi All. I know that the manifold rubbers are different(carb to head) 250/400 but not sure about the airbox to carb. I am sure that someone will know. What is intriguing is that "Superdream_Parts" are able to get reproduction parts made or obtaining them from somewhere. Happy new year. Mike.

Consider putting a jack under the sump, removing the rear drive chain and unbolting the 2 front, the top and rear top engine bolts and letting the engine move forward rotating on the lower rear engine mount to assist in carb removal

I have used a hot air gun to gently warm the rubber. It softens the fittings and temporarily restores elasticity to then remove the carbs. The choke should also be pulled out to bring the mechanism in on the carbs during removal. More than one way to skin a cat.

The airbox is the same on 250 & 400 it's just the rubbers that are different, but the rubbers don't have a part number, just different part numbers for the airbox depending on which rubbers are fitted - PITA now the rubbers are 40 years old. Would be great if Superdream_parts got the 400 rubbers made too. I've used Pete's method of carb removal, makes removal/fitting a doddle.
