Hi, whats the best method for cleaning the casings ect, have used Auto Glym metal polish but it still needs the watermarks polished out!

are they bare alloy ? if so you could try fine wire wool and solvol that cleans them up nice

It's the right and left engine casings. Maybe just more elbow grease!!!!!

solvol autosol been my no one alloy polish for ever then told about this stuff , not cheep mothers no better

Astonish kitchen polish works quite well, combined with elbow grease. It is cheaper than metal polish and smells nicer too.

A friend of mine suggested using Autosol and cardboard (old cereal box card), as this gives a firmer pressure on the surface than a cloth. Seems to be right. Worth a go!

Astonish kitchen polish works quite well, combined with elbow grease. It is cheaper than metal polish and smells nicer too. A bloke I watch on youtube reccomends that too Adrian Eades is his name he's getting quite good results on parts from a CD175 he's restoring at the moment

This sounds daft but has anyone ever used Arm and Hammer Toothpaste on the alloy casings? I'm pretty sure I didn't dream that someone used it with outstanding results.
Pardon the pun but the alloy ended up looking mint.
