So it's a very quick and simple story.
The weird thing is I was thinking (not dreaming) about this very bike when Carl The Bandit texted me and said 'look at this'......(referring to his new red CB400NC acquisition).
So it was May/April 2008. Redditch. The house was right near the Kingfisher Centre. I'm walking home from doing some shopping and I spot a tidy looking blue CB400NC in the driveway of a house. There was a lady in the front garden and I asked her if the bike was for sale to which she replied 'yes'.

I looked at the bike that day. It had around 7 or 8000 original miles on the clock. I remember thinking that it was probably one of (if not the) actual last 400 Superdream officially imported into the U.K.
Seller wanted £475. It really was in nice order bar needing to have one of the side panels colour matched correctly.
This is not a tale of regret as in the end I decided not to go for the bike and the timing was just not right back then. It is more a story to share with fellow enthusiasts on the forum in between all the help that new members come here for. Two things that conjure up in my mind some eleven years on:
1) What happened to the bike? It did get sold to someone not long after I looked at it and I believe the last time I checked a few years ago t was on SORN with little or no MOT records.
2) I wonder what such an example would sell for now? Carl got a recent bargain I believe with his but I think now, B457OLB would find a buyer for certainly no less than £1700 meaning that prices are certainly heading North.
It would be great if someone recognised the bike from this thread.....it has happened before. I found my 400 again years after I sold it via the forum. It would be nice to know that this little blue 400NC was still in existence in someone's shed.

I know just what you mean about 400 prices I recently missed one in huddersfield (not fast enough off the mark, but it was nice to see it turn up on here) and underbid one in swansea and then accidentally bought the xbr, like you do...

XBR's are nice little bikes......I remember my woodwork teacher had a brand new one in 1985.....maroon colour. They really do seem to be a very sought after bike.

Not in cosmetically as good shape as it was 11 years ago sadly but still could be a bargain for someone. The bike has good provenance with original owners card and lots of receipts etc (have been talking with seller).
