the crackpot idea is (slowly) underway and this arrived this morning so the good, its got the stator and with delivery it was £135 the bad, its siezed from standing (wouldnt have touched it if it had siezed while riding) acouple of exhaust studs are snapped each about 5mm down inside the thread (not that big a deal) the ugly, well they say you cant polish a turd so I'm going to have to employ some serious elbow grease to getting this one to look good. as I already said, this ones very long term, my thoughts are to pour a drop of diesel down each bore then finger tight a couple of plugs in and leave it to do its stuff for a couple of weeks and see if I can then get it to turn over.

Good luck with that. Someone went to a lot of effort with the wood saw.

Ha if that's the case it's got the look of a Goldwing about it. That's what I imagine they look like underneath. Lots of frame work

Well there you go Buster - if you're up for a challenge, I'm sure if anyone can pull-off a walnut Super Dream, it's you. You did say it was the start of a crackpot idea!!!
