no need for violence he passed me ,my mate had a 1000cc vincent with a chair on you could ride that with L plates on im not sure if you still can but u dont see many sidecars these days

Lol, that was the stupid thing. You could buy something called a sidewinder, which was basically a side table with a wheel attached to it that titled when you did, and with that attached to the bike you only had to do part 2 of the test, you could could skip the boring cone weaving part one.

i remember those,there is a picture in this months OBM moving house on a bike and sidecar the stuff on the sidecar was piled about 12feet high

There are plenty of tails of near misses, a buddy of mine tells of one where the examiner had to apologies for nearly getting run over when leaping out between two parked cars to do the emergency stop .

Ditto, soz. I once started a post on a k100 site about starter clutch failure that decended in to a 100 post argument between two yanks about the benefits of synthetic oil. Gotta love the NOS though
