Hello to everyone. I created an account early last year. But having had some ups and downs with my health etc. Have just managed to buy a Superdream. So apologies for my lack of participation on the forum. Like many my first bike was a (Black) CB250n Superdream in 1980. I was 17 and passed my test on the bike, in Sevenoaks. Even though my emergency stop came to a wobbly stop on a drain man hole cover ! I have now got a very (all) original black 1982 CB250n Superdream De Lux. The only non original items are the two exhaust mufflers. It has done a genuine 15,000 odd miles and sounds good (mechanically). Loads of old MOTs etc. Riding out brings back many happy memories of the early 80's ! I am considering having it cosmetically restored, but my head says leave it alone ? Not sure ! Only original once ! The bright work, and notably the crankcases could do with refurbishment back to original. I paid, as you might expect good money, £1850 for the bike from a very reputable bike shop/dealer. But it came fully serviced, new MaxxisCST tyres, 12 months MOT and delivered half the length of the country for the price. So all in all not too bad. Well thats is where I am at ! Bring on Summer !!

Hi peter welcome to the forum very nice original looking bike I pasted my test back in 1981 and I to found myself explaining to the examiner why my emergency stop was so poor and I said what did he expect from my cable operated disc brake on my CB200

Hi Peter , welcome.
Nice looking bike , I would leave it alone cosmetic's wise for now at least , just use it as it is and enjoy it over the summer.
If you get the itch and want to tidy it up , there will be another long winter next year and time enough to decide what you want to do.
Regards Graham.

Welcome Peter, as the lads say, enjoy a summer of riding it first, there's plenty of time to think about what you want to do with it and it looks a nice clean example already.

Hi Pete, welcome along. That is one nice superdream, I'm with the others, leave it as it is (original) for now & enjoy the 1980s again

A very sincere thank you to all who have liked and left such positive messages. Have not been able to resist addressing the "crusty" crank cases & starter motor etc. A real good clean as well. See my other posts in " what have you done with your Superdream today " Rear steel mudguard removal & underside repaint next ! Lol Ride out planned for Sunday morning !!
