SPEEDOMETER STOPPED WORKING.
Follow these Steps to find the Fault:-
Unscrew the Speedo Cable and check the (inner) 'Drive Cable' with your fingers. Does it come away? Is it Broken?
If it appears to be intact, do this:-
Tie the (Unscrewed) Speedo Cable with String in such a position that it can be seen by the Rider as you RIDE THE BIKE. (very easily done) It will be very quicjkly seen if the Inner cable is Turning. If it IS TURNING the trouble must be the Speedo Clock which is Faulty.
If the Inner Speedo Cable is NOT TURNING the trouble must be the REDUCTION GEAR. You need to remove the Front Wheel and Spindle to remove this Part.
I have another Tip when checking the Reduction Gear if anyone is interested. (The Drive Lugs)
Regards The Reverend
