7.5k - wow! That's how I got into japs, Back in 1978 I was looking for a Tiger Cub, the first 'proper' bike I'd owned (I started with an LD150 scoot),. By 78 the one I looked at was 350 quid & it was no better than the one I'd had a decade earlier for 30 quid. I ended up buying a 2 year old cb250g5 (with electric start, indicators & mirrors!) for the same money.

It`s like new ian, its really been looked after, a cracking buy. You're right Dave, I'm really chuffed with it. I hope to keep it in this condition, so I'm keeping as a highdays & holidays bike with my NA, and my other cb500 & 250NB will be every day bikes. Not sure where the 400N fit in at the moment.

You`d be ok on one of the Distinguished Gentlemen`s motorcycle club rides on that Nick, there were loads of them came through a village in derbyshire last Sunday, all dressed up including p pot style helmets.. A lot of folk that were into them are now getting old. Some too old to ride. But even if they can still ride , they may also have trouble kicking 'em over. Some younger blood needs to ensure the interest in British bikes survives. I'd like an old Brit in the collection. Tempted to view this one - not far from me. P.S - the blue frame on that Suzuki looks awesome. I see a few bikes where the owners cannot get the started as I have been helping them by looking at the bike (fuel/ignition/etc) after cleaning the fuel system out and refueling with E0 I find out that it will start. But when they come to collect the bike they can't start it. So then they start thinking about selling it after a few years of not riding it. But I can't afford these bikes and others are not interested any more so will be interested to see what happen reference prices..

When I was a having a new tyre fitted to one of my bikes last year, at the local bike shop parked up was a really nice old Norton. I enquired as to why it was there and the mechanic said that its owner (who was advancing in years) could no longer kick the bike over to start it due to a knee / hip weakness. It was there in the hope that the mech could fit an electric start to it.....at a quote of around 1.5k to do this (only one starter would be suitable) the owner declined. Sad though.
