On a recent trip to Suffolk I had an opportunity to visit the David Silver Honda Collection, a fantastic exhibition of about 150 machines from the 50s to the 90s, well worth visiting! More pictures to follow but photobucket is a pain at the moment...

If Paul and Dave go down there we will be seeking Mr Silvers out for an ear bashing!

I thought it was Nick posting up a gag image- but I have looked and actual photos from the Silvers collection website show the same floor tiles and background. I wonder why he settled on that one with all his resources..... and money?
Is that a 250T Dream just out of shot- early comstars?.....

Yes - no fake images here.......this is Dave Silver's 250 Superdream on display in the museum.....personally emailed to me by a member of his team (at my request) around six weeks ago.

That saves me uploading another picture from photobucket. Yes, that is the only SD in the collection, maybe we should encourage Mr Silver to get some more...

It's strange that considering how many 250 SD's were sold, so few are in what I would call nice factory condition now.
Just goes to show how many got abused and were thought as 'never worth restoring' to quote a motorcyle journo from back in the day.
It shows how wrong they were.

I'm disappointed that the guy who has written the rule book on genuine NOS spares, has got this bike so wrong. I mean- how accurate are the rest of the collection?
I suppose for a 250N he couldn't bring in a pristine, barnfind US model....

I'm disappointed that the guy who has written the rule book on genuine NOS spares. Thing is - I don't think he did do this.....he has sold pattern parts alongside the genuine 'drying up' stuff for at least a few decades now......I guess he has had to in order to make the business survive. I think there is only so much living off the back of the glory days any business can do. But I must admit, it is surprising that a much more original looking example wasn't sought after for the display - even if it wasn't 100% right you'd expect it to be closer than this one.
